Pieced together in mid 2007 with a bucket of change, an idea, and and some hard work in the kitchen, halo's was born.  Actually, it started before that, when studying for final exams should have been a top priority but conversations led to various bloody mary mixes and hot sauce recipes that we had made in the past, but that's a whole other story within itself.   We won't lie, maybe exaggerate, but the goal was to perfect a "keep your socks on" all purpose seasoning spice with enough heat to tantalize your tongue but also just the right amount of sweetness and flavor to extinguish the fire.  The idea, based on a secret Texas recipe went through a series of changes and split into two completely different forms. The first being the seasoning spice which became known as halo's engine No. 9 spice, and the latter taking the name halo's original hot sauce, which was released as a special small batch run and no longer available.   Now we weren't blindly grabbing from our mothers spice racks, over the years we had all put time in various food happy industries, so we knew our stuff a little bit.  Each of us though, had a different concept of the ideal flavor. Together we concocted and tasted both the good and the bad, and believe us, there were some bad.  Like the spicy mustard with a hint of turmeric and cayenne, or shall we say a whole lot of turmeric.  Damn Steve and his heavy hand.     Today, halo's proudly markets halo's engine No.9 spice and various forms of eye catching branded merchandise.  We often can be spotted at festivals and chili cook offs throughout the Midwest and Texas.  Feel free to contact us with any questions, we are pretty sure we will have some sort of answer.  As always,  please remember to put halo's over it.
